Essential Job Functions
2 years of experience preferred. 
The Asphalt Screw Man’s primary function is to adjust the screed height on the paving machine to ensure proper depth, grade and finish. The Screw Man is also responsible for ensuring the consistency of the asphalt mat and the overall ride quality of the finished pavement. The Asphalt Screw Man Laborer performs work involving laboring and operating of various simple to complex construction tools and equipment involving the construction, repairing, cleaning and maintenance of sidewalks, curbs, gutters driveways, parking lots, private and public streets and State and Federal highways. Performs traffic control duties; May operate truck and trailer to move equipment from one job site to another. 

Other Job Functions
May assist other trades as directed by the job superintendent.


Working Conditions
Frequent exposure to weather, dust, and fumes. Occasionally working in high or exposed places. Working in a LOUD noise intensity level.
