HIGHWAY CONSTRUCTION SUPERINTENDENT

Summary: This position is responsible for coordinating and managing on-site activities, multiple crews, subcontractors and equipment on DOT highway and bridge construction projects within the state of Kentucky. Must be able to travel out-of-town for projects when required (approx. 3-hour radius of Louisville).
Required Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED preferred. At least 5+ years supervisory, highway and/or bridge experience.
Essential Functions
- Coordinate and manage the following on DOT highway and bridge projects:
- On-site activities
- Multiple crews
- Subcontractors
- Equipment
- Review project plans and develop a plan for completing the assigned tasks on time and within budget.
- Coordinate with Project Manager to order supplies and materials to complete project.
- Document daily project activities in a Daily Work Report
- Record, code and submit crews’ daily timesheets
- Continuously monitor safety and provide assistance in addressing areas and conditions requiring attention.
- Must have mechanical knowledge, mathematical skills, communication skills and be a team player.
