Concrete Paving Crew Operator

Summary/Objective
Hall Contracting of Kentucky is searching for a Talented Concrete Paving Crew Operator to join their 100% EMPLOYEE-OWNED COMPANY in the LOUISVILLE AREA! The ideal candidate for this position will know how to Operate Concrete Paving Equipment such as Slipform Pavers, Belt Placing Machine and Cure/Time machines as well as other earth-moving and material handling equipment typically used in Heavy Highway/Bridge Construction. Compensation
$34.30; $16.50 Fringe- Prevailing Wage Contract

Essential Functions

• The operator will take the lead in operating and caring for the equipment operated including daily preventative maintenance checks and reporting operational defects to the superintendent.
• Daily greasing of equipment.
• Operate equipment to achieve task such as concrete placement, excavation and grade work.
• Ensures that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed.
• Brings problems to the attention of the foreman.
• Perform other duties as assigned when not operating. This list is not exhaustive meant to cover all possible tasks.

Position Type/Work hours

This is a full-time position. Hours of work vary based on project needs and weather conditions. Overtime as required. Travel currently not required, but may be required in future projects.

Requirements
REQUIRED:

• 2+ years’ experience operating concrete equipment, such as concrete slipform paver, concrete belt placing machine and cure/time machine.
• Reliable transportation to/from the site.

PREFERRED:

• 2+ years’ operating experience on excavators, dozers, and other heavy construction equipment.
• Ability to read machine manuals and load charts.
• Working knowledge of hand signals.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
• Comply with the company’s drug and alcohol testing requirements
   

Work Environment
This position is performed in outside weather conditions, which can be noisy, hot, cold or dusty.
